We may have a trade in the next several hours.

It sounds like we may have a trade in the next few hours, albeit not a major one by any stretch.

According to a report from Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports the notoriously frugal Ottawa Senators have not made a qualifying offer to one of their restricted free agents, forward Alex Chiasson, and there are now rumors that he will be traded prior to the 5:00 pm deadline.

Chiasson's performance dropped significantly in his second season with the Senators, and his first season had seen a drop in production as well when compared to his time as a member of the Dallas Stars, and the Senators may simply believe he's not worth the investment.

Lavoie did speculate that he could be traded, and while he would likely be viewed as somewhat of a gamble by whatever team does acquire him, he is an interesting one at just 25 years old with flashes of potential during his NHL career.
