The Edmonton Oilers may have pulled an impressive 8-4 win over the Los Angeles Kings last night, it did not prevent the team from making changes on Wednesday.

The Oilers have just announced that they are placing forward Brad Malone on waivers today.

The 29-year-old forward who has spent nearly a decade trying to find solid footing in the NHL, got another chance when he was recalled by the Oilers at February 1st. In 13 games with the Oilers, he did not however manage to record a point.

Selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the fourth round, 105th overall of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Malone had seven goals and 24 points in 41 games with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors this season.

If he goes unclaimed, this is where he will head back.

Malone made headlines this season when he injured Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Travis Dermott. The Leafs blue liner suffered a shoulder injury after being hit from behind by Malone back in February 27th.
