Breaking: Oilers star has been named to international team for the World Championship.

The Edmonton Oilers have just made a big decision, and some fans are already questioning the team's choice.

According to an official announcement from the Edmonton Oilers organization the team has made the decision to send 2016 first round draft pick Jesse Puljujärvi to the Finnish national team for the World Championship.

This presumably indicates that the Oilers have also made the decision not to call him up to the main roster for the postseason, although the team has clarified that the option to do so remains available to them should they choose to do so.

With a potential suspension facing forward Leon Draisaitl today, many felt that the addition of Puljujärvi could help mitigate that loss despite the fact that Puljujärvi is not a center.
