Breaking: Oilers veteran placed on waivers
End of the road for the the 28-year-old or will he be back?
HockeyFeed
Edmonton Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli has announced that defenceman Ryan Stanton has been placed on waivers.
If the 28-year-old clears, it’s expected that he’ll join the team’s AHL affiliate the Bakersfield Condors. Stanton suffered a foot injury during training camp and hasn’t played a game since. It’s expected that his demotion to the AHL is simple a tactic to get him some more playing time.
Hopefully the veteran defender can get back into game shape and find his game with the Condors, as the Oilers could use another steady presence on the blue line.
