The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that they’ve officially signed forward Josh Anderson to a three-year deal, worth a reported $1.85 million per year.
The 23-year-old winger is coming off a career season with the Blue Jackets in which he scored 17 goals and 29 points in 78 games. The big, 6’3, 220 lb winger looks poised to put up even bigger numbers in 2017-18 and fetched a fair deal of interest on the trade market before re-upping with his current team.
With Anderson’s signing the last remaining restricted free-agent is Detroit Red Wings forward Andreas Athanasiou who remains embroiled in a contract dispute with Wings GM Ken Holland. Reports indicate that Athanasiou may be on his way to the KHL where he’ll play out the season and potentially join Team Canada’s Olympic roster.
