Breaking: Out of nowhere Jagr takes a huge shot at the NHL.
Jagr bad mouthing the National Hockey League?
HockeyFeed
One has to wonder if this is a parting shot from Jaromir Jagr to the National Hockey League.
There were a number of rumors regarding Jagr that broke on Tuesday, but at the end of the day Jagr himself came out and indicated that he was still in talks with three to four teams regarding a new contract, but one has to wonder if those talks may have fallen apart.
Speaking with Russian hockey reporter Igor Eronko of Sports Express, Jagr commented on his ongoing situation and appeared to take a shot at the NHL in the process.
And if I want the Olympics, I have to play in the best possible league, that's what the KHL is,' said Jagr as per Eronko.
Jagr calling the KHL the 'best possible league' despite the fact that he is obviously still holding out hope for an NHL deal seems to be a slap in the face of the NHL, and it's rather surprising to see him make these comments after stating that there were still options for him before he made the decision to Europe.
While we hope that this isn't the end of Jagr in the NHL, we can't think of any other reason he would make this statement.
