Breaking: Player knocked out cold after being hit from behind.

Boy oh boy this was an extremely ugly hit, and by the way San Jose Shark Matt Tennyson hit the ice you have to be seriously concerned about what kind of damage he may have suffered here.

The Sharks defenseman was drilled from behind, when he took a big hit between the numbers from St. Louis Blues forward Ryan Reaves, and he proceeded to fall to the ice like a felled tree, clearly having lost conciousness before his body even made contact with the ice.

There's almost no doubt that this hit will be reviewed by the league, especially if Tennyson has suffered any kind of severe trauma to the head. The officials on the ice thankfully made the correct call and Reaves was given a game misconduct and ejected for the hit.
