The Nashville Predators have stayed silent on the Shea Weber injury and now we know why. According to multiple reports their star defenseman, Captain, and arguably their best player overall is done for the rest of the series. That means if Nashville wants to beat Chicago and make it to the second round they will have to do it without Weber in the line up, a very tall order. Weber was injured in Game 2 and hasn't played since, while no official update has been given on the status of his injury it's believed to be a lower body injury. UPDATE: Nashville has officially confirmed the news on their website and have released this statement.
The Nashville Predators announced Friday that Captain Shea Weber will miss the remainder of the club’s Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Chicago Blackhawks due to a lower-body injury the defenseman suffered in Game Two of the series. However, contrary to erroneous broadcast and media reports over the last 24 hours, he did not suffer an ACL injury. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
