Breaking: Rangers top prospect Kravtsov will not join team after all

For weeks now, New York Rangers fans have been looking forward to the NHL debut of the team’s top prospect Vitali Kravtsov. Well… wait a little longer, Blueshirts fans because according to a report from KHL insider Igor Eronko Kravtsov’s KHL team, Chelyabinsk Traktor, is refusing to release him from his contract, despite the fact that the team’s season is over.

Check it out:

No official word or explanation as to why exactly Traktor has elected to keep Kravtsov in Chelyabinsk. Again, the team’s season is over and Kravtov’s contract is set to expire on April 30th. Sounds like petty KHL / NHL feuding from the outside... can the NHL not step in to move things along?

In any case, the 19 year old put up eight goals and 21 points in 50 games with Chelyabinsk after being selected 9th overall by the Rangers in June’s 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Expect him to be in Rangers training camp in the Fall and expect him to push for a roster spot.
