BREAKING: Red Wings Make A Surprising Announcement

After practicing with the Detroit Red Wings but not featuring in any preseason games, long-serving veteran defenseman Niklas Kronwall has been placed on short-term injured reserve by the organization.

 

It was believed that the 35-year-old was rehabilitating his knee injury and was on pace to dress for Thursday night’s season opener. It seems clearer now that his recovery is taking longer than expected.
