Breaking: Rielly takes a slewfoot from Voracek, rushed to the locker room
Keystone Press

The Toronto Maple Leafs are in the midst of a closely-contested matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers on Eric Lindros' jersey retirement night.

They finally broke the score open with two quick goals in succession from Connor Brown and Frederik Gauthier to make it 2-0 by the end of the second period.

Unfortunately, the game may be overshadowed by an apparent injury sustained by the team's top defenseman, Morgan Rielly (did we really have to say who the best defenseman was, we all know who it is - unless you're Mike Babcock, then his initials are RP).

Here's the play in question.

Some believe Jakub Voracek initiated the contact, but it's hard to tell. It sure looks like a slewfoot from this angle, but we'll let you be the judge.

Either way, if Rielly is out, that's a big problem for this team.

Stay tuned for the 3rd period as we find out whether or not Rielly is okay to finish the game.
