Breaking: Sabres demote young defenseman to the AHL

The Buffalo Sabres have announced the demotion of Casey Nelson to the AHL this morning.
The undrafted 25 year old has played parts of the last two seasons with the Sabres, but has spent the majority of his professional career in the AHL. He did not play a single game during his call-up in the NHL, with Phil Housley electing to dress veteran Josh Gorges in his place.
Nelson has 4 points in 14 games with the Rochester Americans this season.
