Breaking: Shane Doan announces his retirement
Keystone Press

Shane Doan hangs up the skates on Wednesday and announced his retirement, according to a report by 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro.

After 21 seasons in the National Hockey League, which were spent with the Arizona Coyotes and Winnipeg Jets franchise, the free agent calls it a career although the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars and the New York Rangers seemed interested to land him.

The long-time captain published a “thank you” letter published in the The Arizona Republic.

After 1540 games in the NHL, Doan scored 402 goals and amassed 570 assists for 972 points. What a career!
