National Hockey League officials get a ton of criticism, and rightfully so, when you make mistake that can alter the outcome of a game you should be criticized. That being said they have incredibly difficult jobs and it's important to note even during moments like this that they get it right far more than they get it wrong.
With that out of the way, we have just witnessed what appears to be an absolutely colossal and unforgivable mistake by the NHL officials overseeing Game 4 between the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.
Montreal's Torrey Mitchell scored a big goal in the first period to tie things up for his team, but it likely should not have been a goal. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so we will let this image do all the taking.
That's right, there are six players on the ice celebrating the goal for the Canadiens, and to make things even better, there's an NHL official in the picture watching them skate right on by to the bench.
Brutal stuff to say the least, and a very tough pill for the Rangers and their fans to swallow.
