Breaking : Sport journalist fired after racist tweet.

Our times are pretty historic in the path of the media world. These days, anyone with a phone can Tweet or post on Facebook whatever come through their mind without any for of proofing by anyone. It can do wonders in certain occasions, of course, but sometimes it leads to disastrous results. 

It's exactly what happened to Terry Frei this week-end when he reacted to the winner of the Indy 500 race. 

Of course, we don't endorse that kind of comment, we're barely reporting it. Thing is, a LOT of people took notice of his faux pas and this morning, he was effectively fired from his position at the Denver Post. The Tweet created a massive storm online and the paper didn't have a choice. 

He used to cover the beat about the Colorado Avalanche and did a fairly good job at it. Frei is the 2nd Avs beatwriter to get fired for his Twitter acts after Adrian Dater last year.

Be careful what you Tweet for guys.
