It sounds like some tough contract negotiations aren't going very well, and they could result in a very skilled forward being available this summer.

While nothing is official just yet, TSN insider Pierre LeBrun is now reporting that the contract negotiations between forward Alexander Radulov and the Montreal Canadiens are not progressing well.

"We know that the Canadiens want to re-sign Alex Radulov," said LeBrun. They have not been in the same sphere, I'm told, in contract talks."

One has to wonder if the big move from Habs general manager Marc Bergevin today, the acquisition of forward Jonathan Drouin, could have been related to the struggles he is having is signing a new deal with Radulov.

Should the Habs fail to get a deal done, Radulov will be free to sign with whatever team he wants after July 1st.
