Breaking: Stars make a one for one trade
KeyStone Press

The Dallas Stars have announced on Friday that they have acquired defenseman Reece Scarlett from the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenseman Ludwig Bystrom.

The Stars land the 24-year-old blue liner, who was played 13 games this season for the Springfield Thunderbirds, Florida's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. He has collected two points and leads Springfield defensemen in penalty minutes (22) and shots on goal (24).

Scarlett was originally selected by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Draft.

The Panthers can now count of 23-year-old Bystrom, who has skated in six games with the Stars' farm club, the Texas Stars. He has amassed one goal with seven shots on goal.

He was originally picked by Dallas in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
