Breaking: Stretcher comes out as NHL player is badly hurt on Wednesday night.

Very scary moment in the NHL tonight.

Nashville Predator Kevin Fiala appeared to be badly injured after crashing awkwardly into the boards on Wednesday night and he stayed down on the ice for several long moments.

Fiala was unable to get up under his own power and a stretcher came out to carry him off the ice, and we know thanks to announcements during the game that he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Obviously the hope is he has not been seriously injured.
