Breaking: surprising activity on the waiver wire!

Only two players hit the waiver wire on Thursday, and even less did on Friday. No player was placed on waivers today, and surprinsly enough, neither Vegas Golden Knights goalie Calvin Pickard or Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Martin Marincin was claimed by another team.

Many insiders believed that both players that hit the wire yesterday would be acquired by another club.

Marincin will join the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League, but Pickard could soon find himself on the trading block.

Calvin Pickard is arguably more valuable as a VGK trade asset now because acquiring team can move him directly to AHL.
