When goaltender Jaroslav Halak was placed on waivers yesterday, the hockey world was shocked. Speculations had Halak almost anywhere in the NHL but more lilkely to the L.A Kings who are deeply in need for a no.1 goaltender while Jonathan Quick is on the IR.

We're now just learning Jaroslav Halak cleared the waivers.

The 31-year-old who's carrying a $4.500.000 cap hit has been assigned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and can no longer be grabbed by an NHL formation. There's certainly a bunch of team that had interest in Halak, but with Ben Bishop and Marc-André Fleury expected to move before the end of the season, one could think Halak's valueis at its lowest. A deal could still occur but the New-York Islanders would need to retain a chunk of Halak's salary or take a player in return to make it happen..
