The Arizona Coyotes have announced that young defenseman Jakob Chychrun had to undergo surgery today. The team's 2016 first-round pick suffered a serious knee injury earlier this week, during offseason training.
According to the team's official website, "Chychrun is expected to make a full recovery but will be out indefinitely. The Coyotes will provide a further update once training camp begins on September 14."
The 19-year-old played 68 games with the Coyotes last season. He recorded seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points, as well as 47 penalty minutes.
