Breaking : Team Sweden wins World Championships!

A lot of focus is set on the Playoffs Conference finals these days. The yearly pilgrimage to the alter of hockey greatness obviously attracts a lot of attention, but it's no reason to ignore the World Championship that's been going on for about 2 weeks in Europe. A lot of star NHLer are there to make their countries proud and it's always an excellent show to watch. 

Today was the championship finals between Team Canada and Team Sweden. It was a lot more defensive than expected and the regular 60 minutes ended in dramatic fashion when Ryan O'Reilly scored with barely a few minutes left on the clock. 

Following this amazing turn of event, the game went into overtime and many chances were exchanged until Team Sweden won the tournament. 

Both Henrik Lundqvist and Calvin Pickard were stellar through the whole game but Lundqvist prevailed in the shootout. It will fix in part his disappointing NHL season ending in a round 2 exit against the Sens.
