Breaking: The Islanders are in trouble!

When the season comes close, General Manager and Coaching Staff look at the board and most of the time, they're happy with the names they see. Off course, you're happier if Crosby, Kessel and Malkin are written but that's a luxury only the Pittsburgh Penguins can afford.

Well, for the New-York Islanders, it's a different story. During the summer, they lost their 2nd and 3rd best scorer and replaced them with Andrew Ladd who's on a faster decline than the Barclays Center.

Among the names they liked on the chalkboard, Ryan Pulock is out for at least another 2 weeks, Travis Hamonic is expected to return in a month and now, we learned Dennis Seidenberg might be out with a broken jaw.

All of the above were big parts of the NYI defensive core. This is going to put a lot of pressure on Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk as the team tries to get it's head out of the water. The Islanders are currently second-to-last in the Eastern Conference with a 5-7-3 record.
