Breaking: The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a trade before the deadline!

The Toronto Maple Leafs appear to be buyer's at the deadline.

While the trade call is still not official TSN insider Bob McKenzie is now reporting that veteran Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brian Boyle will be joining the Toronto Maple Leafs in San Jose on Tuesday as the newest Maple Leafs center.

While it's still unclear what the Leafs have given up, there are now multiple reports from multiple Boyle has been acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade indicating that they intend to make a bit of a run in the postseason.

Sportsnet insider Chris Johnston has described this as a "pure rental" so we don't expect the Leafs paid a premium price here, but we will update the story once we know more.\

Update: The Leafs have sent a second round draft pick in 2017 as well as forward Byron Froese who spent most of the season with the Marlies back the other way.
