The Winnipeg Jets announced they have agreed to terms with defenceman Ben Chiarot on a two-year contract with an average annual value of $1,400,000.

Chiarot was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 4th round (120th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, and made his professional debut in the American Hockey League with the Chicago Wolves during the 2009–10 season.

He has played parts of the last four seasons with the Jets and has 30 points (5G, 25A) in 170 career games.
