Praying for some good news for tonight's rematch against the Devils!
The Ottawa Senators take on the New Jersey Devils in what will be a rematch of a game from October 19th, where the very same Devils bested the Sens 5-4 in overtime.
The Senators will hope to gain reinforcement from three important players tonight.
Alex Burrows, who is an important veteran for this team despite his low point totals. He has a goal and two assists in 10 games so far. He's dealing with an undisclosed "nagging" issue and his status for tonight is in question.
Zack Smith was injured over a week ago, when he was forced to leave that very same Devils game with an upper-body injury. He has 5 assists in his last 5 games, and getting him back in action would be a big plus for this team. He's dealing with an upper-body injury.
Finally, Chris Wideman was taken out of action by the Philadelphia Flyers' defenseman Radko Gudas on Thursday night.
The hit earned Gudas a game misconduct penalty. Following the game, head coach Guy Boucher seemed optimistic in Wideman's case.
It appears he should be good to go - but the team is remaining cautious with him and will confirm his status following warmups tonight.
