Despite making dazzling save after save against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators, goaltender Petr Mrazek got very little help from his defense corps. His two regulation losses sting, but his 4.07 goals against average as well as .889 save percentage are tough pills to swallow.
Still, head coach Jeff Blashill is giving the 24-year-old Czech a vote of confidence, and he’s expected to mind the net tonight against the Ottawa Senators.
Perhaps a loss will incite Blashill to use Jimmy Howard in the next game, as he’s surely itching to prove that he still belongs on the team.
