BREAKING: Top Oilers prospect doesn't make the cut!
Looks like we know who won in the battle of first round picks!

The Edmonton Oilers have announced today that one of their top prospects will report back to the AHL.
Jesse Puljujarvi has a strong skill set, as proven by his time overseas, but he has yet to put things together in North America. Oilers fans and management alike won't be too quick to worry about 2016's 4th overall selection though - star center Leon Draisaitl wasn't the most convincing player when he entered the NHL, and is now considered one of the best pivots in the league.
What does this mean for the Oilers? Or more specifically, Kailer Yamamato? The 2017 first round draft pick has had a standout camp and is poised to crack the lineup this coming week. He is likely to get the 9 game tryout, after which the coaching staff will have to make a decision on the rest of the kid's season.
Yamamoto could look absolutely lethal on Connor McDavid's wing if head coach Todd McLellan gives them some time together. Watch out for that one.
The skilled forward posted 42 goals and 55 assists in a mere 65 games in his draft year for the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL.
