It was clear from their offseason game plan that the Montreal Canadiens were going all in for a run at the Stanley Cup Championship, and we've been hearing for weeks now that general manager Marc Bergevin very much wants to make one more big move, and this may be that move.

According to a breaking news report from Sportsnet's Eric Engels, Arizona Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal may soon be on the move as activity is heating up on the trade market. Hanzal himself has been the subject of rampant trade speculation since he made it clear he would not negotiate with the Coyotes during the regular season, effectively stating he will become an unrestricted free agent before making any decision this summer.

It's worth noting here that Engels is not reporting that this trade is a done deal, and in fact the Canadiens are not the only team trying to grab Hanzal from the Coyotes. However Engels did specifically name the Habs while saying that there are "a few teams in the hunt.

We will be staying on top of this one.
