According to Bob McKenzie, the Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks didn't lose any time signing the players they traded for yesterday. The Hawks inked Artem Anisimov to a 5-year, $22,75M deal. The Ducks signed Kevin Bieksa to a 2-year contract averaging $4M a season. Anisimov was implicated in the seven-player swap that send Brandon Saad to the Blue Jackets while Bieksa was acquired from the Canucks for a second round pick in next year's draft. From the 'Hawks perspective, this is a weird deal because reports claimed they weren't willing to commit that much money for that amount of time to a younger, more offensively-gifted Saad. Bieksa will bring leadership and experience to an already solid Ducks defensive corps next season.
