Anisimov was implicated in the seven-player swap that send Brandon Saad to the Blue Jackets while Bieksa was acquired from the Canucks for a second round pick in next year's draft.
From the 'Hawks perspective, this is a weird deal because reports claimed they weren't willing to commit that much money for that amount of time to a younger, more offensively-gifted Saad.
Bieksa will bring leadership and experience to an already solid Ducks defensive corps next season.
