It seems like it is finally the end of former superstar Dany Heatley in the NHL. The two-time 50 goals and 100 points scorer has signed a contract with the Nuremberg Tigers of the DEL in Germany.

"He is not coming here for money. He really wants to play In Nuremberg", said the team's general manager Martin Jiranek in a press release.

Since Heatley has both Canadian and German passports, he won't count as an international player. The second overall pick back in 2000 wasn't the shadow of his former self for the last few seasons. He ended the last season in the AHL with the San Antonio Rampage after playing six games with the Anaheim Ducks during which he failed to record a single point.

In 869 NHL games, Heatley found the back of the net 372 times and recorded 791 points. His greatest moments came with the Ottawa Senators when he recorded back-to-back 50 goals and 100 points season from 2005 to 2007. Heatley also played for the Atlanta Trashers, the San Jose Sharks and the Minnesota Wild.
