It looked as though the marriage between the Vegas Golden Knights and restricted free agent defenseman Nicolas Hague could be coming to an end, as the two sides were said to be far apart in their negotiations. However, rumors of a split between the two sides have been greatly exaggerated.
Minutes ago, Vegas announced on Twitter that they and Hague had agreed to a three year contract extension, keeping him in Sin City through the 2024-25 NHL season. His deal carries an average annual value of $2,294,150.
Originally selected with the 34th overall selection in the 2017 NHL Draft by Vegas, Hague has appeared in 142 NHL games, all with the Golden Knights, posting 42 points (10 G, 32 A) to go with 101 penalty minutes. He also skated in a career high 52 games last season.
