Breaking: Vegas has reportedly chosen the player they will claim from Edmonton.

The Edmonton Oilers will be losing one of their young defensemen to the Las Vegas Golden Knights. 

While the official announcements have not yet been made by the National Hockey League or the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Sportsnet insider John Shannon is now reporting that 23-year-old defenseman Griffin Reinhart will be going to the desert.

The former first round draft pick found himself struggling in the American Hockey League this past season, deprived of any opportunity to develop at the NHL level, and it seems like Vegas believes a change of scenery could help him achieve his potential.

If he does indeed regain the form that led to his draft pedigree, this would be a steal for the Golden Knights.
