Breaking: Vegas looking at Boston blue line for the expansion Draft.
Keystone

With the season coming to an end, teams and fans begin to sweat the Expansion Draft and which players they’ll lose to the NHL’s newest franchise.

According to Joe Haggerty, - I’d expect either Adam McQuaid or Kevan Miller to be taken in the NHL expansion draft by Vegas, and Charlie McAvoy to replace whichever one of those players departs from the right side. -

Kevin Miller is a right-handed shutdown defenceman who has been with the Bruins organization since 2010, but has been a regular in the Bruins lineup since the 2014-15 season. The 29-year-old signed a four year extension in May 2016 at about $2.5 million per year.

Adam McQuaid is another right-handed d-man, the veteran has played all of his eight NHL seasons with the Bruins despite being drafted by Columbus in the second round of the 2005 entry-draft. Another stalwart defensive defenceman, McQuaid was resigned to a four-year deal in 2015-16 worth $2.75 million a year until the 2018-19 season.

The Boston Globe reports that the Bruins are likely to protect Tuukka Rask, Zdeno Chara, Torey Krug and Colin Miller amongst seven other forwards. This essentially leaves Kevin Miller and Adam McQuaid as the most attractive and affordable options to choose from the Bruins lineup.

We will see where the dice land during the Expansion Draft June 17-20, 2017.
