On Wednesday, the Calgary Flames placed veteran forward Freddie Hamilton on waivers for the second time this season. The first time, back in November, the Flames had admitted they were hoping to keep Hamilton in the fold, with his brother Douggie, and were most likely hoping for the same this time around.
But no - the brother will be separated. The Arizona Coyotes have claimed Hamilton off waivers today.
In just eight games with the Flames this season, Hamilton has just recorded an assist. He was a healthy scratch for Calgary's last contest.
Many rival teams were looking to add depth up front, and Hamilton could be a solution for the Coyotes, as they are reportedly trying to move another young forward Anthony Duclair.
Hamilton could prevent Arizona from dealing with a void up front.
