It's honestly somewhat surprising that a player who was so large a part of the Boston Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup run has struggled to find a spot on an NHL team, even in a limited role, only 5 years later, but such is the fate of Dennis Seidenberg.

There have been some reports that he is looking for a deal, and not a PTO coming off the buyout and that may have caused hesitation among some teams, but we now have confirmation that at least one team has reached out to Seidenberg's representation.

According to ESPN writer Shawn Hutcheon the Calgary Flames have been in contact with Seidenberg's management, specifically in regards to this upcoming season, presumably with the intention of potentially signing the veteran.

There's no word on if any other teams have reached out, or how close the Flames and Seidenberg are to a deal, but one would imagine the signing of Johnny Gaudreau would likely need to get done prior to this deal being signed.
