We have a major injury to report.

First, according to an official announcement from the New York Islanders, veteran defenseman Dennis Seidenberg has suffered an "upper-body injury" and he will be out indefinitely as a result. The Islanders have not officially confirmed the nature of the injury but have placed Seidenberg on injured reserve.

Despite the Islanders not publicly divulging what the injury actually is, Islanders' insider Arthur Staple has reported that two different sources have informed him that Seidenberg is believed to have suffered a broken jaw on Saturday when the Islanders faced off against thew Panthers.

There is currently no timetable in place for his return, but Staple believes we could learn more later today.
