Breaking: Veteran forward suffers concussion during tryout with NHL team.

A National Hockey League veteran may have just seen his chances of playing in the National Hockey League this season vanish in a single hit.

The Vancouver Canucks, and more specifically coach Trent Cull, have confirmed that veteran forward  Ryan White has suffered a concussion. When you consider that this injury comes in the middle of a professional tryout it sounds like White's chances of getting picked up by the Canucks may have gone from slim to none.

While the Canucks have not confirmed that they will be releasing White from his tryout, we suspect that this injury may indeed be too big an obstacle for the 29-year-old center to overcome.

It's unclear what the next step will be for White if he is indeed dropped by the Canucks, but at just 29 years of age it's not impossible to imagine he gets a chance at cracking an NHL roster later in the season, just unlikely.
