Breaking: Veteran goalie gets multi-year deal after big bounce back season.

After a huge bounce back season veteran goaltender Peter Budaj has earned himself some additional security. 

The 34-year-old National Hockey League veteran was coming off a down year where he spent most of his time in the American Hockey League when an injury to Los Angeles Kings' starting goaltender Jonathan Quick provided him with a golden opportunity. 

Budaj made the best of it appearing in 53 games for the Kings last season, recording a 2.12 goals against average and .917 save percentage over that stretch, very respectable numbers for a backup thrust into such a huge workload. 

Now according to TSN insider Bob McKenzie, Budaj has been rewarded with a two-year contract from the Tampa Bay Lightning, the team that acquired him as part of the Ben Bishop trade, and that deal carries an average annual value of $1.025 million per season.
