Breaking: Veteran goalie pulled after getting destroyed in the first period.

Given the way things turned out just seconds after he left the net, we doubt that fans of the Detroit Red Wings will be putting too much of the blame on veteran goaltender Jimmy Howard.

The former All-Star was yanked just roughly 15 minutes into the game after the Toronto Maple Leafs exploded with an offensive onslaught in the very first period, scoring three goals in their first four shots of the game. 

While those numbers look catastrophic, as does Howard's abysmal .250 save percentage on the game, moments later when Petr Mrazek was put in the Wings net things continued to fall apart for Detroit. 

On Toronto's very first shot following Howard being pull the Leafs scored again, making it four goals on just 5 shots.
