After suffering a mid-to-lower-body injury a little over a week ago, Thomas Vanek of the Detroit Red Wings was originally listed as “day-to-day” but soon found his status changed to “week-to-week.”
The team’s leading scorer with four goals and four assists was unsure of when he would make his return to game action, and it was revealed minutes ago that his expected timeline is somewhere within the two to three-week range, according to The Detroit Free Press.
Moreover, forward Tomas Jurco, who has been out of action for a few months now after undergoing back surgery in the offseason, is expected to start practicing next week with the team. He will be ready to participate in training sessions that include contact, and his presence will certainly be a welcomed addition to head coach Jeff Blashill’s lineup.
