The New York Rangers are coming off an impressive come-from-behind victory against the Vegas Golden Knights and look to get a win streak going as they face off against the red-hot Tampa Bay Lightning tonight.

Head coach Alain Vigneault announced a change to the blue line a mere 2 hours before puck drop.

Fans responded to the tweet - and it's clear people aren't happy with the decision. Here's just a few of the reactions.

Vigneault is in hot water - it was speculated that he could be fired following the team's match against the Golden Knights. The team fell behind after two periods and it seemed possible that they were about to lose to a 4th string goalie on a new expansion team.

The fact that the Rangers won the game likely only prolonged Vigneault's seemingly inevitable firing. He has to hope a move like this goes well, otherwise it may not bode well for him.

Every little move he makes now will be scrutinized.

Nick Holden is pointless in 8 games while Brendan Smith has 2 assists in 11 games.
