A surprise trade late in the draft.
We have a surprise trade late in the National Hockey League Entry Draft.
The Chicago Blackhawks have given up their 26th pick in the 2017 NHL draft, opting instead to trade it to the Dallas Stars in exchange for two of Dallas own picks.
The Blackhawks will only be moving down three spots by acquiring Dallas' #29 pick in the draft, and will also be receiving the #70 pick in the draft from the Dallas Stars for doing so.
Not the biggest trade in the world, but significant for the Blackhawks.
