Breaking: We have our first trade on deadline day!

We have our first trade of the trade deadline.

There are now multiple reports that the Arizona Coyotes have traded forward Brendan Ranford to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Joe Whitney. Both men have spent the entire season in the American Hockey League.

It's a relatively minor deal but considering that both of these teams are expected to sell assets at the trade deadline this could be the precursor to more moves from both organizations.
