We have known for months that the demands of Colorado Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic were very high for his star forward Matt Duchene.
As a matter of fact, we reported a few months ago that he turned down a deal with the New York Islanders, who offered talented defenseman Travis Hamonic, a top forward prospect and a first-round pick.
Now according to TSN's Darren Dreger, it looks like even though many weeks went by, the price hasn't gone down for the 26-year-old center. Here are the two options Colorado had:
Wow. Four high picks and a prospect, or two prospects, a first-round and a third-round pick. That is extremely expensive.
Pierre LeBrun also added that even though the deal was serious, Nashville never went as far as having contract talks with Kyle Turris:
