Breaking: Weather-related state of emergency affecting one NHL game

Another NHL game is getting postponed in the National Hockey League, and this time we cannot blame COVID. The New York Islanders have just announced that their game vs. Seattle Kraken scheduled for Saturday afternoon at UBS Arena has been postponed due to the weather-related state of emergency declared by New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m.

This is what the state of emergency stated:

“State of Emergency Declared for Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Putnam, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk and Westchester Counties

Heavy Snow Now Expected Friday Evening Through Saturday for Long Island, New York City and Mid-Hudson Regions With Accumulations of 5 to 10 Inches Expected in NYC and 10 to 16 Inches Possible on Long Island
