Breaking: Wild lose one of their top forwards to injury.

The Minnesota Wild have lost one of their top forwards to injury, and it sounds like he's going to be missing at least a few games.

In a report that broke just moments before puck drop on Tuesday night, the Minnesota Wild officially announced that veteran forward Nino Niederreiter had been ruled out of tonight's game.

Unfortunately that news also alerted fans to the fact that Niederreiter will also be absent all of next week due to what the Wild are calling a "lower-body" injury at this time.

Since it's unclear what exactly is impacting Niederreiter's health at this time it's very hard to estimate what kind of recovery time he will be looking at, but the fact that the Wild are confident to rule him out for the better part of two weeks has to be considering a bad sign.

Niederreiter has been having a stellar season for the Wild thus far and is coming off an impressive hat trick against the Buffalo Sabres just a few short days ago. The timing of this injury could not have come at a worse time for either him personally or the Wild organization as a whole.
