Breaking: Wings announce call-up in wake of Witkowski suspension

After a massive line brawl against the Calgary Flames that saw hybrid forward-defenseman Luke Witkowski get an automatic 10-game suspension, it was widely believed that Brian Lashoff would get the call from the AHL.

Craig Custance's prediction was bang on.

Most fans were clamoring for Joe Hicketts to get called up from Grand Rapids and were very unhappy when Lashoff was confirmed as Witkowski's replacement.

Hicketts has a history of moving the puck well and putting up numbers, while the same could not be said about his counterpart.
