Breaking: Wings make 13 cuts to training camp roster
Keystone Press

The Detroit Red Wings have announced their first round of cuts in training camp, cutting ties with some amateurs on try-out contracts and assigning others to their junior teams in the CHL.

The seven players heading home without a deal:

Oliver Castleman, Isaac Johnson, Sean Josling, Luke Kutkevicius, Marcus Crawford, Evan Fiala and Corbin Boes.

The six players heading back to to junior:

Zach Gallant, Brady Gilmour and Lane Zablocki, Cole Fraser, Jordan Sambrook and Reilly Webb.

With still 34 forwards, 20 defensemen and seven goaltenders on their preseason roster, the Wings have dozens of players left to cut before the season begins. The puck drops on their first preseason game tomorrow in Boston, but all eyes will be on the team’s first ever game at Little Caesars Arena this Saturday, also against the Bruins.
