The Winnipeg Jets have reportedly signed a number one goaltender. According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, former Philadelphia Flyers netminder Steve Mason is headed to Manitoba.
McKenzie also added that many of the deals that are already reported are only verbal commitments with no paper contracts to back them up just yet. He mentions that nothing is official or dead-set certain until after 12 noon ET.
Mason had a record of 26 wins, 21 losses and 8 overtime losses last season. He posted a 2.66 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. He played 463 career games with the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Flyers.
